Privacy and Security
Unfortunately, all online communities sometimes encounter fraud and identity theft schemes. Our behind-the-scenes decisions are guided by the goal of providing you with the safest possible environment. We monitor site activity with protective measures to help ensure only legitimate information, job offers and other communications are posted. However, due to the Internet’s basic nature, we cannot claim that LGBTCareerLink will contain only legitimate information and offers at any one time. Please help us by taking precautions that make sense.
We do not sell or lend any members of this or any other Out & Equal products or services to anyone. When you create your profile you can opt out of mailings from this site. However, the mailings you get from this site will be directly related to networking and your career and site issues an maintenance. Out and Equal Workplace Advocates may also separately email you important announcements and each email of this nature will include a link to opt out.
A Word about Google and Other Search Engine Indexing
Your LGBTCareerlink professional profile and resume or other materials you upload to the site may appear within search engine results for your name. When you create or edit your profile, you can say "yes" or "no" regarding your indexing preferences. However, there are certain circumstances where your blocking code could be over-ridden. While this is unlikely, it could happen. LGBTCareerlink and Out & Equal have no control over search engine index removals, even when your account is deleted from the site's user roster. In actuality search engines will drop your LGBT profile as soon as the crawlers determine that the link is broken. We can request immediate removal, but we can't control their practices.
Should you wish to delete your profile, send an email to candidates@lgbtcareerlink.com.It's very helpful if you tell us why you want it deleted so that if it's feedback we can correct we will. We are working to install a delete feature users can control on their own.
If you are uncomfortable with your career profiles and online resumes being associated with this site, there are still many things you can do here without creating a profile
